About Q1 Academy

Q1 Academy is a 100% online English academy that teaches students in South Korea, China, and other markets. Our current list of subjects include academic reading, academic writing, speaking and other custom curriculum for privately enrolled students. The majority of these students range from 4th to 9th grade and attend international schools. They are privileged students who perform very high in comparison to their peers at schools. Their parents also demand high quality education. The majority of students will ultimately study abroad in the United States.

About the Position

100% Remote English Reading / Writing tutor. You will create answer keys, grade quizzes and essays, and most importantly be on-call to help students do their homework via video chat (cameras must be on and recorded).

Tasks include:

– Live tutoring – help students with their homework (reading and writing)
– Create answer keys
– Grade quizzes based on answer keys
– Daily reports for each student

Pay: Base pay:

1,900,000 KRW Bonus: 400,000 KRW bonus for completion of semester (every 4 months)

Employment conditions:
– 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
– 5PM to 9PM (Korea standard time)

Required Qualifications for Applicants:

Education & Experience
– Native English reading and writing abilities
– Graduate of 4-year university in USA
– Unversity-level English Majors & Minors (welcome)
– Master’s or PhD Level English (welcome)
– Experience in online education (welcome)
– Able to relate to Korean/Chinese students (welcome)

Other Requirements

– High speed internet
– High quality Computer (tech specifications will be checked during interview)
– Quiet home environment

Desired experience for Applicants:

– High proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, sheets, forms,, etc.)
– Extremely detail oriented
– Entertaining story-teller
